St. Joseph's Institute of Management (SJIM) was established in 1968 by The Society of Jesus or the Jesuits, an early religious order of the Roman Catholic Church founded by Saint Ignatius of Loyola in 1540. In November 1996, the College secured approval from AICTE, New Delhi, for a two-year full time PGDM Programme. Later in August 2007 the college received approval from the AICTE to offer the Executive PGDM and PGCM programmes. The college was awarded ‘A++’ rating by Business India and is a member of reputed organizations like All India Management Association (AIMA), Delhi; National Institute of Personnel Management, Kolkata. SJIM is a member of International Association of Jesuit Business Schools (IAJBS), Milwaukee, USA and Xavier Association of Management Institutions (XAMI) .Multiple collaborations with foreign universities like Seattle University (Albers School of Business and Economics) (USA),Putra Business School (Malaysia),Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, R.O.C and University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) (USA) ensure a global outlook on management-related areas.

The faculties are highly trained and experienced and are alumni from reputed national and international universities like IIM, IISc, IIT, BITS, etc with abundant corporate experience. The course curriculum is on par with the education standards of IIM.
