Common Management Admissions Test (CMAT) Entrance Exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts Common Management Admissions Test (CMAT) exam every year for management admissions in all the AICTE approved colleges and Universities across the country. The CMAT exam is conducted every year and students have to qualify this exam to get admission to PGDM courses in different AICTE approved colleges and universities across the country.

What is NTA?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is formed by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The NTA has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization by the Government of India to conduct various entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions. The NTA is the sole body to conduct CMAT entrance exams across the country.

What is the CMAT Exam?

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a National Level Entrance Examination for admission to all management programmes in the country. This Test facilitates AICTE affiliated participating Institutions to select suitable students for admission to the management courses in such Institutions.

CMAT-2021 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) as a three-hour entrance examination in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode to evaluate the candidates’ ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness, for admission to the Management Courses every year. The participating Institutes of CMAT-2020 are the Institutions which will be accepting the CMAT Scores for awarding admissions to MBA courses. The aspiring students have to take the CMAT test online in the designated exam centres across the country.

Eligibility for CMAT Exam

The aspiring students who have completed their degree in any stream with 50% aggregate marks from the recognised university are eligible to apply for the CMAT exam.  The candidates who are in the final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply to the CMAT exam. The minimum age criteria required for applying for the CMAT exam is 21 years.

Exam Pattern for CMAT Exam

The CMAT exam is a computer based online test. The CMAT exam paper will have 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs), that consists of five major sections of:

  • Quantitative Techniques
  • General Awareness
  • English Comprehension
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Data Interpretation

The CMAT exam is an online computer-based mode examination and the students have to give the CMAT test in their designated examination centres that is printed on their admit cards.  

The CMAT question paper contains 100 questions that are divided into five sections:

  • The total time allotted for the exam is 3 hours
  • The exam is Computer based online test that is to be given in the designated exam centres
  • The question paper type of exam will be MCQ and the students are required to choose the correct answer from the 4 alternatives.

The students are required to fill the online form with the correct details and pay the fees online. Once the form is filled and the fees are paid, the students will receive a unique username and password on their registered email id and mobile number, and the students have to keep them for future reference. The students in order to download the admit card have to login with their unique username and password for downloading the admit card.

Application for CMAT Exam

The interested students taking the CMAT exam are required to apply online for the exam on the official website. The students should fill the online form without any mistakes and keep the filled form for their future reference with them. The students are required to pay the fees online and keep the receipt for future reference. The students will get the unique username and password after the payment of fees. The students should keep this in mind to download the CMAT admit card. 

Once the admit cards are available, the students are required to login with their unique username and password on the official website to download their admit cards.  The students have to carry out the print out of the admit card on the exam day to the respective exam centres as mentioned on the admit card.
