What is XAT EXAM ?

The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is conducted by XLRI (Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur) for admissions to PGDM courses across the country.

The XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute) or (Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur) will conduct the XAT exam for PGDM admissions in more than 600+ management institutions across India. The XLRI is one of the top organisations that conducts entrance exams for various management courses in India.

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)

XAT Exam is one of the oldest entrance exams for management admissions in India. The XAT exam is a Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) based objective test and is one of the most popular national level management entrance exams in India that is conducted every year for PGDM admissions. The aspiring students can take up the XAT exam four times a year and can join the top management colleges in the country. The XAT exam is approved by AICTE and is recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education Government of India.

Eligibility for XAT Exam

The aspiring students who have completed their degree in any stream with 50% aggregate marks from the recognised university are eligible to apply for the XAT exam.  The candidates who are in the final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply for the XAT exam. The minimum age criteria required for applying for the XAT exam is 21 years.

Exam Pattern for XAT Exam

The XAT exam is conducted only through Computer Based (Online) mode. The XAT exam paper will have 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) divided into 2 parts

Note:

  • There is sectional Negative Marking.  0.25 marks will be deducted from total marks for each working answer.
  •  There is No Negative Marking for General Knowledge (GK) Section

Application for XAT Exam

  • The XAT exam is conducted only in Computer Based (Online) mode every year. The students have to fill the application form online only. The students have to fill the application forms correctly without any mistakes and pay the application fees online by Credit/Debit Card or Net banking and register for the XAT exam. 
  • Once they register the students will get their unique username and password on their registered email id and mobile numbers after the fee payment is done. These details are to be preserved for further reference.
  • The students have to download their hall tickets from logging in through their username and password. The students have to give their XAT exam in the specified exam centres mentioned on their hall tickets
