What is CMAT EXAM ?

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) exam is conducted by NTA for admissions to PGDM courses across the country.

National Testing Agency (NTA)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation under the Ministry of Human Resource Department (MHRD), Government of India (GOI). The NTA is the government organisation established by the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting national level entrance exams. The NTA has been entrusted by the Ministry of Education with the task of conducting the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT).

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)

The CMAT exam is a National Level Entrance Exam for admission to management programmes in the country. The test facilitates AICTE affiliated institutions to select suitable candidates for admission to the different PGDM courses in top institutions of the country. 

The CMAT 2021-22 exam will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) through computer based online mode and is of three hours duration.

  Percentile ≥ 90 to get admission into a top reputed college where as other colleges accept percentile within 50-85 range.

Eligibility

The students who have completed their degree in any stream with 50% aggregate and are interested to join PGDM courses in top colleges of the country can apply for the CMAT exam 2021-2022.

Exam Format and Syllabus

The CMAT exam is conducted through computer based online mode at specified exam centres. The CMAT exam is Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) based and consists of 100 questions that are divided across 4 different sections. The duration of the CMAT exam is 3-Hours. There will be Negative Marking for the wrong answers.

What’s New in the CMAT Exam?

The CMAT Exam 2021-22 has the new following updates:

  • A new optional section has been added to the CMAT question paper. The new section, mainly focuses on Innovation and Entrepreneurship and will be an optional section carrying 25 questions
  • Extra 30 minutes will be given to students who opt for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship section which means the total time available to students will be 3 hours and 30 minutes. Those not opting for the new optional section will get 3-hours to complete the paper.
